Stalker _ cleolindajones

I'm alive... I think...

I can give you a sob-story about how RL has kicked me in the ass repeatedly over the past year and a half. It would be the truth, but you wouldn't care.

The final regular chapter of MIA is still killing me. It's like banging my head against a brick wall repeatedly. So, my question for you is, would you be happy if I just posted the epilogue, or do you want me to keep hammering away at the final chapter? The epi is already half written. The final chapter... not so much. So it's your call: epi, probably within the week, or final chapter and epi, who-knows-when?

The final chapter of MIA isn't even close to being written, but the epi is almost done and could probably be posted within the week. So, what would you like me to do?

I'm alive and pimping

1. MIA Ch 25 is in progress. No, really!

2. MIA's Epilogue is done in draft. Yes, done. In draft. So within days of me posting Ch 25, I'll be able to post the epi and put that baby to bed. Finally. :)

3. Once again, I'm putting myself up for bid in the Fandom Gives Back auction. It ends at 11:59 PM tonight. Yes, tonight - Saturday, July 3. I've got two MIA outtakes, a one-shot, and a multi-chapter fic up for bid here and there's one left of the four photos from my photography site that I offered up (winning bidder's choice of print and size). So if you feel so inclined, go contribute to the awesome cause that is Alex's Lemonade Stand.

Aaaaaand... that's all, I think. :)

I'm totally not dead!

I know this may come as a shock to some of you, but no, really! I'm not dead!

No, I haven't finished Maybe I'm Amazed. YET! There's a yet in there! I just wrote a one-shot for the FGB auction, and I do plan on keeping up the writing momentum by finishing up MiA as soon as I possibly can. If I do that, will I be forgiven for being such a horrific slacker? Maybe? Please?

Anyway, in case you're interested at all in the one-shot, you can find it here: Forever and Always

Fandom Gives Back

Last chance to bid!

As you likely know by now, The Twilight Fandom Gives Back Auction in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand (fighting against childhood cancer) is on. So far, it's raised more than $22K. WOW! Seriously, wow. Can we hit $25K by the auction close, at midnight tonight, Friday, November 20?

There are TONS of great lots up for bid, including autographed Twilight items, artwork, fanfiction, gift baskets, meet & greets, a weekend in San Diego... So many I can't even mention them all. Please come by and bid for one (or more!) of these amazing offers. I'd be even happier if you bid on me, but I won't be picky, since it's all for such a great cause. ;-)

But in case you're interested in my offerings...

I'm still auctioning three fics:

Two are MIA outtakes/alternate POV chapters from anything MIA. E's POV of the night of seduction? You got it. A full flashback of Prom Night, from B's POV? Sure! You name it, you got it. (And yes, you can wait until after the story's done to specify, since you may be interested in the Epi from the alternate POV.) The top two bidders for the outtakes will each win one.

The third fic is a totally stand-alone one-shot. You tell me what you want, I'll write it. Simple as that.

I'm also auctioning off a picture from my photography site. The winning bidder gets to pick any picture, in any size it's offered.

This is a cause that's really important to me. I have two friends who have each lost a little one to cancer - each before their third birthdays. Seeing what those sweet babies went through, what their families went through, what their parents are still going through, and will go through every day for the rest of their lives, absolutely breaks me. So yes, I do take this campaign very seriously, which is why I'm so proud to be a part of it.

Again, bidding ends at midnight tonight, so don't wait! So bid soon, and bid often!

OMFG _ cleolindajones

WTF

I have no words for the drama and fuckery that abounds in this fandom. I've never seen anything like it. And it just keeps going, and going, and going.

LET IT GO!

I said to someone a while back that I made a conscious choice to stay on the periphery of the Twifandom, with a very small handful of exceptions. This just goes to show that I made the right damn choice. Sure, I'm probably missing out by not forming the really tight friendships and bonds that so many others in the fandom seem to have (not to say I don't have people around here I consider friends, because I do), but fuck. To have to choose camps, side with one team or the other, or else be a persona non grata... **sigh** It's so fucking high school, and I don't understand it. At all.

There's no reason for vicious personal attacks being targeted at any fanfiction authors. There's no reason - or there shouldn't be any reason - to bring in lawyers, or to get people kicked off or banned from certain fanfic sites/archives because you're upset with something they've said or done. IT'S FANFICTION, PEOPLE! Get a fucking grip.

And yeah, I realize I'm going against my own policy by speaking out here, but so be it. My mind is just boggled by everything that's going on, and I absolutely understand why some people consider removing themselves from the fanfom completely when shit starts flying like this.

Can't we all just get along? Seriously, we're a bunch of adults who like to read and write about sparkly vampires from a series of books for young adults. None of us have the right to be all high and mighty. Not a single one of us.

Okay, I think I'm back... I feel better, if nothing else.

First of all, thank you so much for all the kind and encouraging comments about Merlin. He seems to be doing pretty well, having less incidents of confusion, fear, hesitancy, which is all great. I'm still worried about how he'll acclimatize to the new house once we move, but we'll figure that out when we get there.

Second, I'm determined to get back to MIA. Originally I was trying to finish it by the end of October so I could focus on NaNoWriMo in November, but I decided that I just have way too much going on this month to even think about NaNo. Maybe next year. That said, finishing MIA will be my writing priority. I promise. :)

So thank you all for being so incredibly patient with me the past month. You're all awesome. **HUGS**

Also, don't forget to check out the Author Auction for The Fandom Gives Back later this month. I'm auctioning off a couple of things, and there are some brilliant folks offering stories up to the highest bidders. Don't miss out!

In case I'm kinda MiA (not MIA) the next little while, don't worry. I'm just trying to deal with some RL stuff that... I'm not coping with well at all.

Long story short, my baby - my 9 year old mini schnauzer, Merlin - has just been diagnosed with something called SARDS. Which means he's gone blind. Completely blind, very suddenly. And I'm not dealing with it anywhere near as well as he seems to be.

So yeah. If you don't see me around much for the next little while, that's why.
